Autumn Color Burst
As I open the window on the lawn
the voice of the rustling leaves I hear,
saying ‘the scorching summer is gone,
listen the footsteps of the autumn clear’.
The hazy summer screen is blown away,
the silky sky radiates sapphire allure,
clumps of cloud turning white from grey,
sail shapeless across the span of azure.
The trees absorb the autumn color burst,
paint the leaves before they wither to fall,
know the dance of hues with them won’t last,
for they will disappear at the winter’s call.
The blades of grass on the verdant meadow
wear at dawn pearly crowns of radiant dew,
with the splash of the crimson sun they glow
as the autumn horizon raises another day new.
When the sky will blaze in lilac sunset glitter,
in my heart the shimmer of twilight will flow,
I’ll hold these for my time of looming winter,
for touch of warmth from autumn afterglow.
