Autumn

Autumn leaves, sad songs
colored trees in throngs
hah, a rueful laugh
always – this heart longs

Truly there is a sadness at the ephemeral, fleeting beauty of autumn, David. Congratulations on your win! Blessings of spring joy to you!

Thanks, Sam. Yep, it's weird, but undeniable that the seasons have specific emotions attached to them.

David, a great poem, autumn is a beautiful season and a favorite for many, it's also a time for closure, rest and endings. Wonderful emotions in your poem. Congratulations on your winning placement.

Thanks, Tania! It's strange how each season has its own feel. I like them all for their various differences, but my favorites are based on the weather where I'm living. Down here by the beach, my favorite season, for sure, is summer - nice and warm!
