Aurora Borealis

Folded orbs of opulence
standing on end, at the end of the world.
Your colors come and go...dancing...
Weaving...Gliding.
Silently hanging,
gathering all of the spectrum.
Mysterious in your presentation,
yet beautiful beyond imagination.
One has to see to comprehend.
One must feel the smallness of the self compared
to the vast enormity of this greatness.
From whence do you come?
Are you a sign of greater things?
Are you a singular gift from ages past?
Surely there are none like you in all the universe.
I bow low in your awesome presence,
resplendently adorned in uniqueness,
unequaled even in the smallest degree.

Never seen such a display. But sunsets and sunrises I notice a lot. Great imagery, Charles and I like the questions which spark thought. And btw, I believe they likely were even more beautiful in the distant past.

my first thought after reading your poem was it would make one feel small watching the beauty of nature on such a grand scale
