Hi Marikate! What precious memories we share. There is truly something special about the experience of a back road and a country home in the summer. My grandparents had a summer house on an island where I spent hours picking blackberries with my grandmother, going to the local county fair, climbing apple trees or walking on the beach looking for limpets! I believe this place fostered my imagination and has left me with amazing memories. Thank you for sharing your memories! Warmed my heart even in autumn! Blessings!

My Dearest Rhyme Time Friend, summer has flown like waves on the shore and I am, just now, catching up with dear friends! This poem was born out of lazy, summer afternoons wandering back roads and exploring roadside stands. So much fun to both remember then put those magical moments into a poem. Funny, the memories and images almost wrote themselves for they are so vivid and truly a precious part of my summers. And, it is always more fun to explore with a friend, sweet poetry sis!
