At the Terminal

with the sun setting, dusk darkens the ground below and vistas fade out~ days flee like defeated youth as we tread slow to our grave

Whoa!! A reminder that death comes to us all at some time which is unknown only to God. I enjoyed reading this one today. My spirit was aloft from your visit to my poem. Sara

Hi Valsa, I felt the depth of this wonderful Tanka. You let your metaphorical heart sing within this one. "Days flee like defeated youth, as we tread slow to our grave." Those words say it all. An excellent Tanka. Have a wonderful evening. Hugs always ..... Mike. XX. Another fave for this evening.

Valsa, you have created an atmosphere that compels one to think with this tanka that uses metaphors. Such is life, my friend, everyone " tread slowly to our grave".Be blessed

I find the essence of your poem in this line: days flee like defeated youth--such is life.
