Listen to poem:

At the Museum of War

Tribute to those who took arms
War after war
And to those who helped
In every way the oppressed

Walking through the museum
Stirs feelings of ancestry and debt due
To generations past
Who fought for our freedom and way of life

Walls dark and grim
Solemn respectful silence
Deep solace
Recognition

Everywhere nostalgic photos of
Solidarity and lifelong bonds
Born amid harshest of times

Lonely hearts so far from home
In worst imaginable conditions
Where the littlest acts of kindness
And camaraderie were so greatly appreciated
Sparking hope ever so slightly
Amid death all around

Very nicely done, Line. They are the heroes that we so little appreciate and what they must endure is unfathomable.

I like your impressions of the museum. I think you've captured the very heart of what was being presented to the public.
