Andrea, love how this Japanese form makes me think of the image you present. Hey....we all have a chance to get lowered unless we've made other plans. I can see it happening and people standing around. Hope it's not for a while and as long as we're having fun here!!! Smiles!

Dear Andrea, how stark, chilling in its simplicity, yet so heavy with emotion. I like the quiet fall of snow against the finality of stone and earth… it lingers, a beautiful and solemn moment frozen in time. My 92 year old mom is dying and I feel for her because she is ready to die and let go. I pray that Jesus takes her in her sleep. Winter Blessings, My Dear Friend, Daniel

oh gosh, My mom is that same age. She is having some problems but not as bad as yours I suppose. Sorry, Daniel. They will soon be in a much better place than the crazy world this is turning into.

We had a blizzard here which is very rare the year Tommy's father died. It was the day after or the day he was buried but right about the same time of his death. I enjoyed reading this one. Thanks for sharing. Sara K

So beautiful and vivid how youv painted imagery! I love this haiku. The darkness flowing throughout dear sweet Andrea! I can see the casket lowered and snowfall! Such a somber and poignant one! Is this for brians contest? Pleasure reading you always! Sending you light!

That settles it for me...up in smoke. A cold blanket of snow does not sound comfy. I hope all is ok with you and your loved ones...every year I have less cards to write. Sad. But it has been a good life in many respects. Never boring for sure.

Black casket, white snow, it sounds definitely final. I liked how this haiku gave much to ponder in so few words. Good work.
