Like bumping into an old friend
un-expectantly
a warm spring day arrives
un-announced.
People smile unabashedly
making their entrance teeth first
into each others view.
It all seems so new.
Winter’s curtain lifts
like Marilyn’s skirt
on a subway grate,
ruffling everyone’s
consciousness awake.
When things are so fine,
we all take note.
A new alertness in the air
carried by all the latest lungs,
like a new Givenchy tote.
Spring has stepped
onto the Avenue.
All eyes are now on her
Everywhere we hear a purr
instead of brrr!
