A very good description of solar flares from the sun. I think this makes me think of the science fiction movies . Possible, probable not likely but who is to say . Will have to have a talk with my son the nuclear, space particle physicist . A good subject for a contest. One of these days I will have to sponsor one but not sure how to do it. God Bless PHYL5H

Very vivid and frightening descriptions, James. I can see this dreaded event unfolding so clearly through your words. Perhaps this could be interpreted as a warning as well. I'm clinging to hope! Excellent write, Highlander. Love, Carolyn
