Asphalt Fields

Uneven paved streets Tear at young inosence Battle fields of wicked powders Lay bloodied lifeless bodies Forgotten families Raped by adolescent assassins Moon sick mothers Watch their own drown in pools of tar and rocks They kiss them in the morning As if their last Defeated men Once strong as iron Stagger out of step Shouting answers to the deaf ear of these streets Life is a daily ad-lib A play of death Shadows a hidden cast of bloody smiles Gleaming corner to corner We pray for rain Hard blinding rain A magic blanket For young soilders to make it home
