Ashes

Hell's perpetual fires
Burning up my frenzied desires
I'm gurgling up a rebellion
Can you feel it frothing?

You sure have claws
That scratched my skin raw
The blood is everywhere
Do you see it spilling?

I barely recognised your voice
Cold and harsh like beaten up ice
My ephemeral lovesong was meant to be sung
Can you hear it dying?

Just one more knot
Tied up your body to the cot
I'm pouring the fuel around
Don't you smell it burning?

Goodbye my sweet love
Endure what you deserve
I've been waiting to burn you to ashes
Did you see this coming?

This is the kind of poem that empowers me, I love the raw emotional writes that take us to the core of it all. I don't know if I had read you before, but I am going to start following you and see what you can do! Very well done, thanks for entering :)

So dark and ... well ... poetically homicidal! (if that makes sense) ... Very well written with intensity and forthcoming-ness ... no punches withheld. Your ending question-lines really immerses the reader in your searing emotions. Can you see me smiling? Congrats on your podium win!

The romantic vengeance and grity passion made me admire the spirit of this intense poem of justice and liberation Sohini. I've always thought, that if I were to be murdered, I'd prefer it be done by the woman I love...this poem relates to my heart in many ways. "Cold and harsh like beaten up ice, my ephemeral love song was meant to be sung, can you hear it dying..." powerful poetry, this really slaps my heart beautifully...J.A.B.
