As We Grow Old and We So Slowly Fade
As We Grow Old And We So Slowly Fade
As we grow old and we so slowly fade
we should ponder, how we are wondrous made.
Our brains are far more complex than we know
we are given hearts and not just for show.
Nature too, conspires to bring us along
with bees and birds gifting honey and song.
Consider blessings of Nature's flowers
or its snow laden high mountain towers.
Rejoice in treasures of vast blue skies
sweetness in our dear mothers apple pies.
Such rare gift as our yellow moon's soft rays
soothing memories of our happy days.
As we grow old and we so slowly fade
we should ponder, how we are wondrous made.
Our brains, are far more complex than we know
we are given hearts and not just for show.

NOTE: Having now dared to live past 60, I find time to contemplate life, its mysterious, relationship to Nature and vagaries of Fate..
Especially Fate--that seems oft to be dark and vindictive in its renderings!
Why so oft does the very old get the greater gift of understanding that is so necessary when one is young?
Certainly so necessary if one is to avoid the many pitfalls of youth.
Conclusion is-- those pitfalls are not meant to be avoided.
As they serve to make the man/woman, be it for better or worse......
