As the Sun Goes Down

Just before the sun goes down
She steps out of the trees,
With her little one at her side,
As pretty as you please.

The doe and her fawn just stop by
For a short nightly visit here,
Then they amble off to the darkening wood,
Till tomorrow when they'll reappear.

Those deer will always pop up wherever they know they will receive a free handout. Those animals are smarter than most of the other ones in the forest. Good way to describe them here.

Deer of any species are just so beautiful, so regal in stance like their King their Stag >> James :)

It's like a blessing at the end of the day to see the deer as they "stop by," Francine. What a beautiful image you crafted in this poem. Very uplifting! Thank you. Love, Carolyn
