As Low Midnight Sounds Into Sad Soul Seep

As Low Midnight Sounds Into Sad Soul Seep

When aching heart pleads deep for break of day
As low midnight sounds into sad soul seep
Lonesome the solitude that has its way
When stabbing sorrows deny peaceful sleep.

Wind outside blows in, gusts of prancing pain
A cold that births chills of darkened dread
Echoes of her kiss, memories remain
As dead dreams float above her empty bed.

Great hard blows hit with chiming of the clock
As visions parade before teary eyes
Head pounds like a sledge hammer breaking rock
When recalling her vows and well spun lies.

Wind outside blows in, gusts of prancing pain.
Echoes of her kiss, memories remain.

Sonnet, "Dark" ( When Dark Of Night Delivers Those Lost Love Blows )

Note, Recollections of youthful loss and nights of sorrowing pains,
wild youth costs, lost loves and echoes that yet visit on dark nights
when shadows come out to play..

Ever so darkness and night has always stood for sadness, pain, sorrow etc... But once you're with the light, showing your light the darkness seems to be more of a gray... turning bright into a bright brilliant light...you sir are glowing bright in the light... write on James

Hi Robert, an excellent Sonnet, as always. Dark in origin but beautiful in its saddened depictions. A deep, dark poem, with such strong imagery. Wonderful as always my friend. Have a wonderful Tuesday. your friend always....Mike.

Thank you my friend. I think that dark poetry can be mixed with once sweet memories to review mistakes and sorrows of youth. To express truth, sadness and ones own mistakes is staying true to poetry. I do not believe in whitewashing to save face and to deny reality. A true poet does not lie to create a false image, IMHO. Have a wonderful day my friend...

Thank you my friend. Writing about something that happened in life , long ago- one gets a different perspective on it. If poetic leeway melds with truth one may just see ones own fault that previously was not seen.
