As I Look Back

Just a few more days ‘til I turn eighty-one As I look back, life has been so much fun, There were times when I jumped the gun Times I stayed when I should have run. Some say, at eighty, life has just begun It’s those people we probably should shun, Sort of like old ladies who call me “Hon!” Not realizing my courting days are done. Nothing I like better than days in the sun Like back when I was courting at twenty-one I once turned away suitors now I have none, Once I was quite slender, now I weigh a ton.

I'm sure you don't weigh a ton, Hon. hahaha I couldn't help typing that. What's the point of counting the years when they don't matter, and are not the measure of a man... or a woman?

They are not, Jenna. Truly. Of course, we cannot help but think about them as a birthday approaches, but we are all so much more than years! Thanks so much for your thoughtful comment. And, by the way, you are NOT a little old lady like some who hit on me these days!!!

With regards to your excess baggage, cut a big slice, then mail it as a Christmas gift package to someone you don't like!...ab

Oh my, how I do like this idea! Maybe I should just send them that fruitcake I'll be eating on until summer time!

A fun lookback at youth written in a very smooth and fluid monorhyme. Like fine wine, Milt!...ab

Nice to look back Milton but you wonder where the time went. Tom P S, don't worry about the weight, we all put on a couple of pounds in winter lol.
