Notes About The Poem

As Hurricane Comes

As the maddening tempest darkens, This gusty night threatens my vulnerability, When a deluge of woe gushes from a stormy heart To reflect a tinge of foreboding, of a growing boom-- The ebon cloudburst engulfs this certain Ramble of an eerie jab in my veins. Yet, my attitude is numb, so unaffected… Perhaps this callous notion within knows I feel this hurricane's frenzy , often. I don’t know why… The marrow in my bones curdles, as usual, A time when a soul grows melancholic Knowing in the core of turmoil, I need to go away. ------------ Hurricane Contest Re-submitted 9/12/2017 Sponsor: Julie Rodeheaver

I loved your entry Nette. Emotions run deep in your metaphor. It was excellent! I am sure glad I didn't have to judge this contest from the beautiful entries I have been reading, I would have had too much difficulty choosing top winners. Kelly did great, but I would have been tempted to give a lot more first places. Congratulations on your well deserved win Nette! #7. ; )

Congrats on your beautiful win, Nette! Great metaphors and your last three lines are akin to my heart- it comes when one has endured many rougher storms.
