As a Man
As a man
He wasn’t taught to
Cry or show emotion
So, he exchanged tears for
ink in the pen to express what
Was bottled up from within.
A mask of steel, he wears with pride,
As a man, he wasn't taught to cry or hide,
Emotions locked deep, a secret kept inside,
For showing weakness, he'd be denied.
The weight of his heart, a heavy load,
A burden he bears, a story untold.
But what if he could let the tears fall free,
And release the pain, the sorrow and the sea?
Perhaps then he'd find solace and peace,
And learn to heal, to mend and to release.
He yearns to break free,
But still he holds on,
afraid to show the cracks in his facade,
afraid to be vulnerable,
afraid to be weak.
And so he remains,
a prisoner of his own emotions,
a man trapped in a sea of unshed tears,
searching for a way to release
the pain that has become his greatest fear.
