Around the Garden ( Series) On My Floridian Garden

Around The Garden ( series) on my Floridian Garden.

Good Morning there Miss Bougainvillea
It’s Spring, time to wake up
I see you weathered winter weather
I’m here to spruce you up

I see you’ve climbed the fence again
To see what you can find
You share your royal carpet
Reds and purples they entwine

So graceful and alluring
Your tendrils reach and roam
Across the fence they gently stroll
You wander far from home.

You seem so delicate and frail
Like wind could set you free
But underneath your girlish charm
Surprises wait for me.

You’re truly quite a siren
You parade for all to see
Oh, one can look, but do not touch
Great thorns there keep you free.

I have read all of your Around the Garden series. They are very enjoyable. I can relate to the plants. I grew up in South Florida. We had 2 Bougainvillea plants that had somehow been trained into a tree-ish shrub. I guess my dad kept it trimmed. The stem was very thick and had bark. Later in life, I planted one near my driveway thinking it would grow like those in my childhood...NOT! I had to move it to a better place so it could sprawl out. The blooms are intriguing aren't they. Smiles.
