Tale of Two Cities - Charles Dickens

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Broken souls and disillusioned dreams. (Drowning in a sea of dread…) Broken toys and angels without wings. (Fragile things…) Weep for the fallen brothers and infants without mothers. (No light, hopes where broken…) Pained tears encompass the empyreal rays. (No more days…) Pompous worlds painted in a destitute haze. (Where are we now?) Transmogrified in the iron flood. (Wash me clean…) Transmogrified in the spilled blood. (Still we bleed…) Embers and snooooooooowflakes, (Let it fall…) Ashes and headaches, (Burn it all…) When nations go to war. Aglow of the shaaaaaaaadow, (It was the worst of times…) Ashes and headaches, Aurora of torrents, (Rising storm…) Aglow of the shaaaaaaadow. A tale of two cities, (Which one survives?) Aurora of torrents. When nations fight, Remember a tale of two cities— Embers and snooooooowflakes. Frightened children flee from the impending devouring wails of the banshees. (Run, child, run…) Captured children drown in the seas for the coming spring's garden poppies. (Sink into the abyss…) Choked whispers, within frozen forgotten tales, (Echoes of footsteps…) The phantom spirits lurking behind the veils. (All is lost…) The strong beguiled yearn for their thirst, (Taste of ash…) Obtaining the hero’s plagued curse. A solitary cane and an abandoned house assembled upon soot. A dying hearth and a trembling shadow with crushed raspberries underfoot. Embers and snoooooooowflakes, (Burn it all…) Ashes and headaches, (So much pain at once …) When nations go to war. Aglow of the shaaaasaadow, (Snow keeps falling…) Ashes and headaches, Aurora of torrents, Aglow of the shaaaaaaaadow. A tale of two cities, (Which one survives?) Aurora of torrents. When nations fight, Remember a tale of two cities— Embers and snoooooowflakes. (Gently under the bridge …) Greet the honor, greet the madness, (Rise and fall!) Beat the dishonor, win the chalice. (Bury it all… Drink it down…) Defeat the grandest apparatus, (The machine breathes…) Acquire all the treasure's honored status. (Blood buys gold…) Embers and snoooooooowflakes, (To have ever known…) Ashes and headaches, (Still we drink...) When nations go to war. Aglow of the shaaaaaadow, (Black rain…) Ashes and headaches, Aurora of torrents, Aglow of the shaaaaassdow. (Poison to numb the pain…) A tale of two cities, Aurora of torrents. When nations fight, Remember a tale of two cities— Embers and snoooooowflakes. (Rest in an endless night!)
