Are You Nuts
Just the other day,
I was sitting under a tree
When a furry brown squirrel
dropped an apple on me
I said: hey, why you go and do that
He said: ain't you the fella who owns that mean black cat
The one that's been after me and my friends,
scaring us, chasing us around
Making us drop our nuts on the ground
Well, I just dropped something on you,
giving you a taste of what it feels like
Seems like the truth can be a bit painful I see
Now hold on, squirrel buddy,
why didn't you just first come and talk to me
I'm a reasonable guy, most people would say
Sure, I got problems like most everybody do,
I have problems just like you ...
The squirrel squealed in shock:
Are you nuts!
You trying to say our problems are the same
Oh, you human with your peanut brain
We squirrels forage in the wild,
scamper around in the cold
While you humans, in your stone nest,
stay warm all winter long ... never inviting no animal guest
Well, I got news for you, human buddy
Just the other day, I chewed up that letter
with your eviction decree
So it looks like you and the cat
are gonna be living outside, with me and my pals,
under this tree
