apPARENT

She screams at him. Crying out to be heard. She’s always been heard. Nobody likes what she says. It’s apparent. I watch as they fight. Numb or entranced maybe. She faces toward him, her back to the fire. He faces toward her, his back to me. She is the fire. And he is me. He screams at her. Begging to be enough. He’s always been enough. Never enough for her. It’s apparent. I watch as they love. Confused or repulsed maybe. She faces toward me, her back to the past. He faces toward me, his back to the future. She is me, and I am her. He is me, and I am him. There are no differences, Only apparent similarities.
