Apocalypse

Orwell saw it coming 
The giant apparatus of the state 
Taking control of the people 
Surveying the lives 
Of a fearful and compliant multitude.
In the Apocalypse it is written 
That a beast shall rise up
Out of the sea
And be given power
Over all kindreds and tongues and nations, 
That another beast shall come up 
Out of the earth 
And do great wonders 
Making fire come  down from heaven 
On the earth in the sight of men 
To deceive them that dwell on the earth, 
All except those who keep 
The commandments of God
And the faith of Jesus, 
He who has an eye to see 
Let him see
He who has an ear to hear 
Let him hear
For the time is drawing near.
