Roy Pett Poet Sonnet

Another New Year

we say hello to birth of a new year
rejoice this time of when our sun is dead
though there's no need for us to shed a tear
our star supplies life giving infrared,

harshness of winter can create sadness
Celebrate rejuvenation of spring 
mixed senses of summer winter madness 
joys of new year, happiness it will bring,

embrace open mind, freshness of summer 
life giving warmth from rays of golden heat
hope, prosperity from our newcomer 
now colourful russet autumn we greet,


our new year suddenly ends, goodbye friend,
look forward to new year,  greetings to send
