Another Lonely Night Without You

Another lonely night without you. The morning finds me alone... the nighttime seems to last forever bridge1 I ask myself, Why am I here? Why have you gone? Will I ever see you again? I found out, I'm not that strong... I'm only strong when we're together bridge 2 Why did you go? What can I do to make it better? Chorus Cause I...I just don't understand... how to make it through another day, and, another lonely night without you... Why? Why? did you have to go? is all I ever, really want to know... another lonely night without you! Now, what do I do? to fill up the space that's empty... Now, I face it alone, killing time, now that it's, my enemy bridge 2 Why did you go? What can I do to make it better? Chorus Cause I...I just don't understand... how to make it through another day, and, another lonely night without you... Why? Why? did you have to go? is all I ever, really want to know... another lonely night without you! bridge 2 Why did you go? What can I do to make it better? Chorus Cause I...I just don't understand... how to make it through another day, and, another lonely night without you... Why? Why? did you have to go? is all I ever, really want to know... another lonely night without you! another lonely night without you! another lonely night without you! Glad you hear the music, that to me is a good sign that this could actually be a song, I appreciate the vote of confidence on this one, thanks for stopping by Greg!

I was reading your comment back to Andrea and personally I think Nora Jones would be a great pick singing this lovely song of yours. She has that edge to her singing. You know that her father was the musical great Ravi Shankar, don't you? A great write John....Maria

Yeah, she's amazing, got a big head start with her genes, but she really holds her own, she's one talented lady, thanks for the feedback, I do enjoy your insights Maria!

A well written painful poem, filled with emotions that tugs at the heart. This is a personal poem, I felt the tears falling throughout it. The author uses heartbreaking imagery and maintains a melodic, poetic flow through the whole piece. I was saddened reading this poem, it rings true and real, for I feel the pain in the words, and it hurts my heart dear friend, Emile.

Thanks Emile, yes the pain is real and fresh, my dear wife has a long road to recovery so will be gone for a while longer I'm afraid, thanks for your compassionate words!

John...The words and music from your heart should bring tears of loneliness to her eyes as she reflects on the wounds she inflicted ! Well written, chuck

Thanks Chuck, coming from you I am pleased you like it, as for my wife she's really not herself, so it's not like she really left me but that's how I feel. I appreciate the visit and nice comment!

There is no pain quite as painful as suffering a broken heart. You have a great song here John! ; )

I was kind of singing it in my head because it's so lyrical, John. Which singer would you imagine as the man to sing this one on the radio? (it could be a woman too) Well composed.

I was thinking Michael Buble, or maybe Nora Jones, kind of a sad bluesy, jazzy feel to it. Thanks for the visualization, it makes me happy!

How could I feel bad when you took the time to think about me and my wife's situation...and actually wrote a poem about it? That was one of the best things you could do. I am truly thankful. Thank you so much for your concern, and your kind visit and comment!

Good one John, you are our resident lyric professor, my attempts are always lacking that musical part of writing lyrics that I am lacking. I need to take lessons from you...

Nah you're much more talented than me, I have a musical background, so writing songs comes naturally, poetry on the other hand...not so much, thanks for the nice visit and comment Charlie.
