Another House ( To Poet Sam W. Foss 1858-1911)
I am alone
in the house
that is
my soul.
There are no doors,
or windows or walls
or ways to
hide
the seepage of minds' fear,
of mans' gods.
I am only this,
and this shell is
as no home
to a retless
mind that churns,
yearns, screams,
seems to find
no peace in the confines
of a "fellowless firmament" ...
only discontent
twists inside.
I am not so free
yet too free
to be
Here.
I am alone in my home.
