I woke up today, I think I did A faint beep beep in my ear Silent rustling of clothes Dust sparks in sun beams Blinding my eyes I think I am awake, today There is a vague memory of hands taking me down of performing first aid of voices, soft and soothing I am awake, I am, today I didn't think I'd ever I surrendered, gave up I get another chance But do I want it? *** 3d place in: "A second chance" Contest Monday September 5, 2016

I like the premise. Would you want a second chance if it meant a long stretch in prison with an unforgiving conscience for some unspeakable crime. Or, perhaps, some recently acquired, debilitating illness and/or horrible deformity? Congrats on your win....

Very deep Darren - I love the final stanza and the questioning of if it was the right thing to have happened. I've heard of people being resuscitated although it was their desire to end their life because of the pain they suffered . Good luck in the contest:-) hugs Jan xx
