Line of inquiry:
"betwixt the pulse of our heartbeat
simply present, head-heart linking
dwelling in time stretched blissful peace
awareness became unblinking"
Weary from everyday stress and strife,
I pleaded for deliverance and guidance.
When cares surrounded me and as I thought
I was plunging into an abysmal pit,
I tried to claw my way up the walls
That hemmed me in, struggling to reach the light.
Between gleams of joy and bursts of doubt,
My thoughts oscillated like the swings of a pendulum.
No feelings staying permanent nor any mood constant,
They kept coming in ceaseless ebb and flow.
When I stayed thus in confusion,
Someone whispered to me and I heard it distinct;
“You must travel inward into the boundless terrain
Of consciousness, into the seclusion of your heart”
I spent some time directing my mind,
Away from the din of the world
And the cravings of the body,
Away from the dictates of my brain
In complete silence, flogging my ego,
And trying to cleanse the stains of guilt
To be in love with love,
To find some peace and to the possibility,
Of bringing a head- heart linkage.
Underneath my vexing thoughts,
I suddenly found answers which lay in ambush;
Which my brain could never find.
When probed deep into the depths of my heart,
I got answers that took my breath away.
I saw truths so profound offering me instant relief,
And my soul lifted upwards without any push.
As heated water evanesces in to vapor to billow upward
I then let my past woes evaporize and disappear.
I knew I was with peace blest and to pure heaven,
My soul ascended and bright sunshine filled my soul.
Now this prayer always rises from my heart;
'Teach me to remain patient and forever strong
To stay calm under all trials and every provocation
And fill my heart with love and kindness,
Animating my soul with innate vibrance!'
