Anger
Tiny aggravations assemble and remain
Like viruses in the brain.
They thrive and multiply
Till sickness fills the mind, and Love and Reason die.
The blood pulses faster, muscles tense
Bulging eyes glare, Anger dulls the sense.
Hands tremble, the body starts to shake
Exploding in an emotional earthquake.
Words of fiery lava, flow hateful through the air
Accusations so scorching that Reason’s in despair
Peace has been mutilated, it is near Death
A Death that comes quicker with each flaming breath.
Resentment starts burning in the other person’s body
Anger lights its flame, for treatment that is shoddy
Their eyes bulge, mirroring the glare
Then everyone is shouting; Anger’s everywhere.
Fingers straight are pointed, fists tightly clenched
Hands begin to shove, collars grabbed and wrenched
Action is physical, violence is the threat
There are fiery promises, that blows will be met.
Stop! Why do we do it? Where is the gain?
Can’t we realize that Anger is insane?
Nothing is achieved by its show of power
If Friendship is sown, Reason will flower
