Angels Danced the Day She Was Born Ii
Before I conceived I had been so forlorn,
my dreams shattered, my poor heart torn-
Then the ANGELS DANCED THE DAY SHE WAS BORN,
the white doves sang in choir and I cried,
and with her first whimper I was awakened, reborn.
I was so full of joy, so completely satisfied.
The toddler years came and I was a mess,
many nights without sleep, days of stress-
But even though I held frustration, I must confess,
nothing compared to that smiles I saw,
with those sassy words, I couldn’t love her less.
Every night I watched her sleep in sincere awe.
Young ladyhood arrived and her boldness intensified,
seems I couldn’t control her no matter how I tried-
But my little girl always did confide
in my sacred words of wisdom with appreciation,
I started to see a sweetheart growing inside.
She became my sweet little God-given creation.
The teenage years will soon come and I’m not sure
how much trouble will come; what will she endure?
Innocence may be gone, but my daughter is still pure,
will she be a young woman of good decisions in life?
I pray that in poor choices will find no allure,
I can only hope she finds compassion, not strife.
Parenthood is a blessing and struggle I’ll say,
first you find peace, then heartache the next day-
I can only pray she will find her safe way
to live a life to the fullest with peace and joy.
If she decides to grow up and move away,
I will always hold onto hope she meets a nice boy.
She shall grow up knowing mommy loves with her soul,
may she see this messed up world as half full-
And during those days when life has taken a toll,
I hope she can move on with faith and trust,
that her parents are here with arms to hold,
and believing in herself is definitely a must.
