* This is my very first Haibun - I hope you like it! *

The breath of Heaven is your sigh ... callow leaves of May tremble for its press on their cheeks, and giggle to slumber on pastel quilts of Autumn, for its sake alone. Should it not be, then, that the song of your heart soars to greet each wondered ear with joyous cadence and charm? Like butterflies with wings of harmony, nectarous notes of you flutter the morning, tickling every spirit with hope and exuberance. This, then - this essence of you unseen, is far less overwhelming than all of you that meets the gaze and gauge, yet the sacrifice of your breath, (and the dreams it weaves in my blood), is what robs me of mine. Oh, how exquisitely ruined and redeemed this world is by your sight and song! How sublimely tortured and adorned, this earthly realm, to frame your countenance and canticle! Yet it is only the shadows and shady hems of this place that offer you fit and proper element, for the light of angels is naught but gloom in your presence, and what appreciation would Heaven or Earth hold for all that is worth losing - all that is taken by darkness - were it not for the diaphanous, dazzling shine of your aspect? What would the world be without its sun ... or Heaven without its angels??
~
should seraphs not spin,
t'would be for the loss of you ...
the bright of Heaven.
