Angel Wings

I pause and witness words of beauty
Taking me up to the mountain top
A simple gift of serenity

I stand still looking over the drop
Held in the grasp of expressiveness 
Taking me to the mountain top

I take to the air a silent witness
Lifted on phrases of pure delight
Held in the grasp of expressiveness 

My mind is bathed in a pure blue light
Riding on delicate angel wings
Lifted on phrases of pure delight

Freedom is felt as my soul it sings
Who knows where I'll be taken to
Riding on delicate angel wings

So as I inhale sweet words from you
Who knows where I'll be taken to
I pause and witness words of beauty
A simple gift of serenity

Dedicated to my Poetry Soup Friends who continue to
lift me on their delicate angel wings.
