Angel

calling from the bush
to a stuttering Moses
"H-h-h-ere I a-am," he said

and the voice replied:
"I have a mission for ya,
hope you like manna."

Thanks so much, Connie! My motto when it comes to contests is you're feeling not terribly inspired ... go for the laugh and the silly! If you made yourself laugh then it's worth it no matter what the results are! Your comments are always so encouraging, my friend!

Thank you! I don't think it was too weird, my friend. They were personal accounts of your narrow escapes with death.

Beautiful continuous repeating sound of honey bee, i think here and very sweet gum from manna ash they carry. Beautiful poem my lovely friend. You mean here honey bee is angel and it's nice. A 7 i feel. Good luck in the contest. Loved always my lovely friend, bl

This was a cute interpretation, Barja ... and I like it! I was actually talking about the angel who spoke to Moses through a burning bush ... though the mention of manna does taste like honey cakes. You are very kind.

Cute one..Manna in Hebrew or Aramaic means what is it..It was cheap, already cooked and tasty..Instant meals on the go..Enjoyed reading your work..Thanks for stopping by..Sara

Perhaps we will never know in this lifetime ... all I know is that they were supposed to be sweet! I'm actually more curious by what that looked like to see manna RAIN from heaven. Thanks for the stop into Silly Town, my friend!

oh dear....Well, never thought he'd use that wording. Just so you know...It was GOD speaking to him from a bush and not an angel! ;) Hugs

Eileen is correct: "The angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a flame..." [Exodus 3:2], but it was God who spoke to Moses...not the angel [Exodus 3:4].

Thanks! This was a silly piece, Eileen. I was going for laughs, rather than historical accuracy ... lol! And actually, I think we are BOTH right (as weird as that sounds) Read Exodus 3:2 and 3:4 ... one says Angel, the other says God.
