And the Sex Is Better Right
I am at the beauty shop
where women share secrets
thinking no one else is listening
I get some of my best stories this way
the two in the next station are discussing weight loss surgery
I don’t tell everyone I have had it.
Why not?
I don’t know, it feels weird.
You have more energy, right?
Yes. They were supposed to give me counseling, but they didn’t.
You get sick if you eat too much right?
Sure, but I love not having my back and knees ache every day.
And the sex is better right?
I stare across the room at a child who is getting his haircut.
He looks about nine.
What is wrong with these bozos?
