And It Rained

The sheriff was ambivalent to the quiescent and arcane
Interests of the luscious and flamboyant Jane.
His interest lie in the immolation of four cows
That were tactile proof of the quintessence of her vows.
She had sworn to be the intercessor for a sacrifice for rain -
The deluge that followed was bittersweet, some thought downright insane
