Notes About The Poem

***Inspired by the earnest hope that hunger all over the world will be solve soon...

And I'M Hungry For You

AND I'M HUNGRY FOR YOU Three days passed, Billy again is sitting relax in his favorite place. Smile flower from his face as he watch closely a single file of shadows on the wall. He is envious that these ants are more systematic and resourceful in gathering their bread and butter. my need, my want, my feelings of desire arise by the smell of foods Billy's hollow excited eyes accompanied by spiderlike hands cram to spoon the fallen scattered crumbs of rice and biscuits from a passer by on the rough dirty floor. Today, I desire an eat all you can meal treat "all" including filth He is done eating all crumbs but still a lion growls inside his stomach, he ran like a train to ask her mama for milk but how can he suck-- ... when fertile breasts two weeks now is suffering drought. parasitical technically edible---- I am eating you _____________________________________________________________ 8:41 pm; July 27, 2015

Hello Olive, I really enjoyed the opening prose on this haibun. But unfortunately I felt the middle haiku was a little flat. Also I was not able to see the pictures that you have attached to this piece. So what I am saying is, thank you for entering my competition, but on this occasion your poem will not be making the top 20. I was lucky to receive a lot of very strong poems in this competition. I will however give this poem a Honourable mention, so that others will be able to follow the link.

This is an important topic that you deal with Olive_eloi. ~ There are those who have in abundance and also waste, while others suffer hunger, malnutrition, followed by death. An imbalance of resources that needs to be tackled by people in power. ~ Haibun is a new form to me; you tempt me to try it:) Hugs // paul

very sad statistics that you portrayed through one child's sad thoughts in your poem, Olive. Yes, when the mother too is not even able to nurse her own child, that is tragic. It's awful to think this is happening every three seconds. MY!!!

who will feed the hungry....who will shelter the homeless....who will Love the hopeless....who will rescue the lost....well through God, the answer is simple...it has to be me because if I see a problem, I should take the initiative to fix it....great post olive....educate the world of the problems we face daily.....

Hey Olive, thank you for bringing this Form to my attention. We could do a collab in the near future. I wonder will hunger be eradicated on this wonderful planet, to be honest, I really don't think so for the worlds population is increasing so fast, and people are living longer. Time will tell, loved this piece/form~~ hugs//always//James xx

Yes the population keeps growing... I don't like to lose hope with regards to finding a solution for this problem... However, I hope that by us helping one way or another in our own little way, we can decrease the occurrence of such.. Partly, I can blame this to "parents" who continuously produce but they don't have the enough "capacity" to keep their children well-fed...

Sad truth of world hunger. While some waste food daily, some go for days and weeks with nothing. I also pray for the time world hunger would b eliminated or atleast rare

A disturbing piece, it makes the reader uncomfortable and in that aspect, your inspiration succeeded in delivering the message. We are not simply readers. We are called upon to think and act on what we know. Awesome write Olive! hugs
