An Orphans Cry

Oh Jesus,oh Jesus, high in the sky,
Please won't you let this heart of mine die.
I get sad at all the things that I see,
When no other children play their games with me.
You let this happen when I was just three,
Now that I'm older, it's harder for me.
My legs are all burnt,my face is a mess,
I wouldn't feel pretty, even in a new dress.
So why did you let this happen to me?
What had I done at the tender age of three?
You have taken my mommy,my daddy as well
On that cold winter night,I remember so well.
So if you are listening, please grant me my wish.
To come up to heaven,
So I have mommy and daddy to kiss.

Heartbreaking Simon. I'm sure there are many who feel the same - why me?! Very well-written with pleasant rhyme scheme. Linda

So sad, a wonderful premise because it shows so much empathy.
