An Ode To Trees

It all starts with a single seed The earth providing what it needs For nourishment to survive And to help it grow and thrive Into a tall and mighty thick Beautiful and majestic Wonder full of pretty grace That is making its own place In this world proud and tall Leaves of color that will fall Into large crunchy piles Children jump in with glad smiles Birds squirrels and chipmunks Make homes in branches and trunks Christmas wouldn't look or feel Right without a tree so real Decorated beautifully Making the house more jolly Young love wouldn't be the same Without somewhere to carve your name Or have a picnic of romance Underneath a leafy branch Trees have many ways to give Us all joy. So help them live A long life without destruction Remember all their useful functions
