An Interesting Cut of Meat

Pork's an interesting cut of meat
Which gentiles find tasty to eat--
   It's a no-no for Jews
   And for Muslims too--
It's the meat where these religions can meet

My late Mother loved her pork but, in the end, it got her. I gave up meat when I turned 21. Haven't looked back. You're so right about both religions being able to find at least one place to meet; great beginnings must be established for the meeting though and there's nothing the world likes more than food. Good Limerick Gershon.

Very clever pun, Gershon. I didn't know Muslims couldn't eat pork. I'm with Dear Heart - grilled pork chops are great. You have a way with limericks! Hugs, Carolyn

Thank you, Carolyn...And it's true. Muslims can't eat pork. They can't eat lobster, crab, or shrimp---same as Jews. Amazing how much there is in common between these two faiths, which have been at war with each other in the Middle East for a long, long time...Enjoy those pork chops! ~ Gershon

Well, since taste is supposedly 90% smell, then I'm 90% sure that crispy bacon tastes great, as I just love the smell of it sizzling in the frying pan...Thanks for confirming that the other 10% is great as well! :) gw

Gershon, great limerick, strange that those two cultures can agree on anything, for me, nothing like a nice grilled pork chop ~

You are so right. It is strange, indeed, that there is any area of agreement... Thank you for weighing in, WW! ~ gw

I like the idea of all people finding a commonality. Well done my friend!

My mouths watering thinking of a bacon buttie. How strange though that they have something in common. Tom

A 'bacon buttie.' That's a new one for me. And yes, the commonality is strange, isn't it? Thank you for commenting, Tom. ~ gw
