An Excavation

Our first date to bridge a poker-face divide conversation with a touch of fantasy till thunderbolts compose themselves in questions "How do you define yourself?" "What is your idea of beauty?" "What pushes your boundaries?" Questions to unearth the enigma of not knowing to map the labyrinth to light the starkly lit palette obscure For what is safely hidden can be toxic Secrets disclosed to set sparse love in motion sometimes improbable like catching a fly in flight Our initial discovery an excavation that un-earths a new reality to weave a narrative fragmented Poem composed July 15/21

My friend, a truly delightfully deep and original take on first encounters. And one that represents that which the mind and soul faces when engaging in exploring a possible new relationship. Very , very well done too.. A fav- a gem .. God bless..

Unique take on the theme! I was never great at asking those deep questions, but I married one who is a good conversationalist. I imagine the answers could get interesting and could make or break the future of that relationship.

Thank you, Juliet. I did attempt to come at the excavation topic from a first, face to face dating perspective. But wanted to leave open how it unfolds. With appreciation, Brian
