An Example of Road Rage

An Example of Road Rage? By Elton Camp I was out on a country road for a drive About a coming car I said, “Man, alive!” Driver was going around a sharp curve Badly out of control, he began to swerve As we just barely escaped a collision I heard a shout that I thought derision “Hog!” is the word the driver did yell I thought, “You’re the hog. Go to hell.” I rounded the curve & got another view Saw that what he said was literally true For the single word he had time to say Was actually meant in a helpful way For standing in the road was a huge sow I veered & missed her but don’t know how

Yes, sometimes, once we know the whole picture of the situation and understand the perspective of our fellow man, the suppossed insults and rants take on a whole new meaning. It has been more than once that in hindsight I wanted to take back the anger and middle finger display I shared out of uniformed stupidity and conclusion jumping. Nice write - fun and enjoyable. Thanks for sharing.

Hey Joe, Thanks for reading and for your sensible comment. Incredibly, on another site where I posted this poem, a responder took me to task for lack of clarity and wanted to know if I hit or missed the hog! He missed the point of the write entirely. Elton
