An Example of Irony
On an instrument of death,
was found blood bearing redemption.
Only a few had exemption,
from a pestilence with a wide breadth.
Only one, to life, holds the key.
He hangs between the two crooks.
Both of them, according to the books,
had no right to be free.
How can any find joy,
from an innocent between bandits juxtaposed?
For both of them had crimes exposed.
But the middle was a benevolent envoy.
One must remember that this savior knew he was great.
And his garments he intentionally soiled,
for men, who when heaven looked upon them, recoiled.
For he knew that they could not bear the weight.
In his place I should be seen.
And for this rebel a pardon came,
so that glory be synonymous with his name.
And in his corruption I am clean.
