Trophy win in Unseeking Seeker's Feb 2026 contest.

Premiere Contest WinnerAn epiphany dawns

as thoughts and ideas
MELDED
        and experiences
             define the perimeters
so my expectations
     took form
          to shape my decisions

GLISTENING
               like oil on water –
                    a kaleidoscope
                    of possibilities …

     when memories
 S W I R L
          finding a new truth –
my epiphany
     flowing over
          river s.t.o.n.e.s
worn smooth
     by norms
yet
     glistening with f l u I d d a w n s …

GATHERING
     the past
          in a m…i…s…t…y shawl
it comforts the future –
PROPITIATING
     twilight sprites
          discarding a false dusk …

guided by the light of iNyanga*
           we define ourselves
                   amongst the many dawns
                         we shape
                             revealing truth

Refreshing write, Su ! I feel your arc of maturity in a “re - dawn”. Beautifully spacious, like an arc. Congrats on your placement. Truth in final line is personal, I presume. Xx.

Truth, like love, has lost its dictionary definition for me. I see it more as a universal concept of light.

Oh, Suzette, I am enchanted by your epiphany. Love your formatting - so clever. It really adds to both the subtle depths and lyrical quality of your poem. And your poetic phrases are as magic as "the light of iNyanga!" A journey into revelation. Best wishes for the contest! Blessings.
