An Autumn Alouette

Feel the autumn breeze
Rustle through the trees.
View how painted leaves abound.
Watch the dappled sun
Play on every one
As they drift toward the ground.

See the harvest moon
Say good-bye too soon
As the colors fade away.
Let yourself be lost
In the lacey frost
While in mounds of leaves kids play.

Thank you very much Mark. I love bathing in the vivid fall colors and being embraced by the cooler air, why fall is a favorite of mine too. Aloha, Connie

Beautiful description of what I am seeing now. The trees have all turned and are losing the leaves. The birds have returned south. Alberta has already had snow twice and so we await winter. Have my garden cleaned off but was not a good garden year. Thanks for thinking of me and reading my poem. I have been slack at posting lately and reading. love phyl

Congrats on your winning work..Way to go for the contest..A very special one it is..Thanks for the visit to my page..I did not go to the doctor with the fall for I felt that I was okay that is no broken bones..I had a headache for days but not really bad for it would hit really hard then go away..Our grandson was so cute for he said, "I know what to do in case of an emergency go get momma"...I got a laugh from that..Sara

Oh how cute, made me laugh too! I didn't go to the doctor either, but I am still sore a week later. My youngest daughter is a massage therapist, so I am lucky. She rubbed arnicia lotion on my neck right after it happenend as she saw me fall. Thanks a lot, and take care.

OH MY, it's my wonderful friend and poet, Connie. Well, guess what? YOU , my dear, have produced a flawless example of Jan's form. I bet she will be proud of you. I don't believe one other person got the meter as perfectly as you did. To top it off, you had beautiful imagery. congrats for your win.
