An Aureate Sunset
Above the desiccated desert
an aureate sun sets
leaving the sky glowing cherry red
as if an endless fire burns through the night
lighting the parched world below
rejuvenating new life into the land
to survive the next's day's torturous heat
desiccated: thoroughly dried out
lacking vitality or spirit; lifeless
preserved by removing natural moisture
aureate: having the deep slightly brownish color of gold
