An Answer To a Prayer
AN ANSWER TO A PRAYER
What exhilaration,
What fun, what joy,
A prayer’s been answered
My angel, my boy!
I felt you inside me,
You tumbled you kicked,
And indeed if you didn’t
I worried, got sick.
In the first months 3 months,
I didn’t eat much,
I hated all perfumes,
Which I didn’t dare touch!
And then in the fourth month
You made your first move,
And gradually practiced,
Your kick to improve.
In the fifth and the sixth,
I overate,
The Doctor said to me,
Hey Mom, watch your weight!
Now in the seventh,
I certainly ate less,
But somehow I gained,
How much is your guess?
In the eighth I grew heavy,
The weather was hot,
I swam in our pool,
And you kicked me a lot!
The day was approaching,
Two weeks left to go,
But on the 31st March,
You decided things were slow!
So with a Jubilant,
But big pain in my tummy.
You my darling arrived at 5.20 p.m
And made me a mummy!
