America's Voice

Those who served their country, whether by chance or choice. Willing to die for the right to be free, they were America's voice. Young soliders fighting a war, they may not understand. Giving their all, then giving more, to protect this great land. Sent to places far away, leaving their life behind. Families at home, could only pray, hoping fate would be kind. Freedom, the ultimate prize. Worth more than silver and gold. It's value we must recognize, it's message again be told. American soliders, heroes everyone. Their endeavors making the country proud. Boldly marching into the sun. Their voices heard, clear and loud.

Enjoyed. When I shipped out, the tour of duty was 3-years overseas for bachelors and 2-years for married personnel, and if someone died, they were planted before anyone knew about it. Today, cellphones instantly connect military personnel to their family, making separation more difficult, as well as focusing on the job! Imagine how difficult that is for Ukranian soldiers on the front line - and for their family! Aloha!

Thank you Rico. I can't imagine the emotions related to " shipping out" Hadn't thought about the communication issue, sadly, even more difficult.
