American Politics

The Republicans want a particular thing, The Democrats all want another, The President tries to put his two cents in, The Independents would, but why bother? Republicans will tear a referendum to bits, Democrats will, of course, shout its praises. The issues on which they unanimously agree Involve session adjournments and congressional raises.

and what of the people…sadly politicians often out for themselves, instead of serving. even to get in the door, they often have to play the game. there are different peoples in America and who should care to watch out for their benefit? Oh that we could have someone with honor, integrity, faithfulness, and righteousness!

Thanks, Kim. Unfortunately, if you could find someone with those qualifications, chances are he/she would not be running for public office.

I am not sure if it is easier making presidential decisions or voting for a president. I'll be glad when it isn't a leap year. I enjoyed this clever poem.

Thanks, Hilda. I don't like it, either, when I have to vote more "against" one candidate than "for" another. 2016 and 2020 elections I did just that. And I fear this next one will be the same.
