American Friends Service Committee
This was written a while ago as a member
of a another poetry site. It was about a
South African lady who I loved and admired
greatly! I miss her wit, her charm and most of all
her great creative talent! She challenged me
to write a poem describing her official job title
which turned out to be no mean task...
She's our leading lady, you know who I mean
All she does is write great poetry
She's a marvellous gal with a heart of gold
Now here's a bit about her psychometry
She asked me to describe her job in rhyme
This marvellous and talented lady
She's the Assistant Program Director
of the South African Program
of the Peace Education Division of the
American Friends Service Committee
Some say it's a cover for something shady
Can't write much more, I'm all out of breath
I should store as much as I can
One never knows when I'll need that reserve
For a reprieve, well at least that's my plan
She didn't think I was up to the task
But her occupation is included herewith
Don't ask me how I managed to accomplish it
Sheer genius I suppose, it's a gift!
