Notes About The Poem

Always Pay and Display Or You'Ll Make Rita's Day

Sour Rita is a meter maid she’s checking car drivers have paid if you step out of line she will issue a fine of Rita drivers are afraid Her beady eyes dart round the lot she’s looking for folk who forgot to pay and display and it makes her day to impose a fine like a shot From fining she’ll never deter don’t attempt to reason with her - just zip up your gob she’s doing her job next journey arrange a chauffeur! 4/26/19

G'day Jan … Very well written set of limericks Jan on one of the most hated jobs the public want to cross swords with. Is this a true story Jan? Lindsay

I wouldn't like to encounter her...I must admit there are many Sour Ritas around...Make a mistake and you will pay the Crown...

Farewell, Rita! Now they just immediately debit your credit card! That will keep your muse busy! Aloha! Rico

Well done, Jan! The Beatles made the meter maids more repulsed and I'm adding you to the list! Ralphie

Clearly, she's handed out way too many tickets to the person's car in that first photo! Priceless limerick. A "fav".

I'm trying not to post funny poems just saving them for the book which is making such slow progress but life, family and health issues take precedence and I spend very little time on the site.:-) hugs jan xx
