Along the Golden River
Along the Golden River
dawn breaks over the palms
Go and find the red boat
slip away,
one paddle sliding
black water gliding
stillness,
your face,
finding our place
among the hyacynths
and life
wrapping expectations
close
around my throat
burying my face
in your hopes and dreams
memorizing scenes
in your eyes
sighs that rise above us
only yesterday to love us
tomorrow never comes
they say.....
along the Golden River.
